Process Systems
Many different process improvement initiatives have been espoused over the last 50 years (e.g., Theory of Constraints, JIT, Continuous Flow, Pull Systems, Work Simplification, Quality Circles, TPM). Most of these were prescriptive in nature (i.e., take this set of tools, apply them like was done at facility X, and you'll save a bunch). FREEPLAY's process efficiency system goes beyond following a cookbook that was developed for a specific situation.
We approach process improvement with three principles:
- Value People
- Eliminate Waste
- Continuously Improve
Value People - People are extremely creative. They learn at amazing levels in incredible ways. All people try to make their lives better (whatever that may be). When focused, all individuals are able to invest themselves in improving the future of their organization.
Eliminate Waste - Across many facets of life, eliminating waste focuses attention on problems that cause shortfalls. It stops us from blaming people to getting to what the underlying cause is. It drives us to look past symptoms to find the root cause. We work to intentionally make waste visible. Then, the organization can work together to attack it, to elimate it.
Continuously Improve - in our hearts we know that "all this" can be better. There is more to this life than what is. We know we cannot accept good enough. We heard it said that we are longing for Eden. Continuous improvement works towards such an ideal. Dr. W. Edwards Deming used the PDCA (plan, do, check, act) cycle in his explanation of how to continuously improve. Building upon his and others' foundation, we standardize the best current way of doing, learn more, experiment and improve, celebrate and continue to do again and again ...
We will tailor a system to increase your process efficiency.
